Reproductive Freedom For All Responds to Susan B. Anthony Anti-Abortion Group’s Plan to Buy Senate Seats in Michigan
Washington, DC – Today, the anti-abortion group, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, pledged to spend millions of dollars to buy the Michigan Senate seat for an anti-abortion extremist.
Reproductive Freedom for All, President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“Anti-abortion extremists know they don’t have the will of the people on their side, so they are trying to buy a critical Senate seat. In 2022, Michiganders proudly passed Prop 3 to constitutionally protect access to abortion, making it clear they will not stand for a Senator who will gut their access to reproductive care. We are grateful to Sen. Elissa Slotkin and Sen. Gary Peters for holding the line in Michigan.”
In Michigan, Planned Parenthood clinics are shutting down across the state due to federal funding cuts, and despite voters voting to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution in 2022, Republicans in the legislature are doing everything they can to roll back reproductive freedom.
