Reproductive Freedom for All Celebrates Adelita Grijalva’s AZ-07 Special Election Win
Washington, DC — Today, Reproductive Freedom for All-endorsed candidate for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, Adelita Grijalva, won the special election and became the first Latina to represent Arizona in Congress. Reproductive Freedom for All Arizona members proudly worked to mobilize voters to secure this victory. Grijalva has been a champion for reproductive freedom, including using her role on the Pima County Board of Supervisors to ensure access to reproductive care for Arizonans following the overturning of Roe v. Wade and leading efforts to rebuke the Arizona Supreme Court after they upheld the 1864 abortion ban.
Reproductive Freedom for All President and CEO Mini Timmaraju released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to congratulate Adelita Grijalva, the first Latina to represent Arizona in Congress, on her hard-fought victory. Adelita has proven that she will stand against anti-abortion Republicans and give Arizona families the representation they deserve. We are excited that Arizonans have, once again, chosen reproductive freedom, and we are proud of our efforts to mobilize and help deliver this win.”
